Jeffrey Ziegler, MSPT, graduated from College Misericordia, now Misericordia University, in 2006 with a BS in Health Science and MS in Physical Therapy. During his final year of school, Jeff became a graduate assistant at EXCEL. He accepted a PT position prior to graduation at the newly opened Oakland office (at the time just the third overall location), where he is now the Clinic Manager. Growing up, Jeff competed in numerous sports, swimming being the top choice for him. He went on to swim in college for four years and was team captain for two years. He was also a one-time MVP. In addition to swimming, he also played lacrosse for two years. Since graduating, he hasn't left the pool. Jeff enjoys coaching various levels of swimming, ranging from youth to adults, training primarily triathletes. He is currently the head coach of the Pascack Valley/Hills High School swim team and was named the Bergen Record's 2016 Girl's Swim Coach of the Year. Jeff remains extremely active and typically starts his day at 4:30 a.m. either swimming, training, or coaching. He competes in various endurance sports and weight trains on a regular basis. Jeff has competed in over 50 races of various lengths, often winning his age group and/or placing well in the overall standings. He loves adventure and anything related to being active. Jeff's love for athletics and anything exercise related made physical therapy a perfect fit as a career. Jeff strongly believes in exercise, the importance of being active on an everyday basis, and how valuable it is to maintain a positive attitude.

Shannon Bais

Doctor of Physical Therapy, PT, DPT

imgShannon Bais

Shannon graduated magna cum laude from William Paterson University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and magna cum laude from Rutgers University with a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. While in college and graduate school, Shannon worked very closely with physical therapists in an outpatient sports clinic and completed clinical work in outpatient orthopedics, acute care physical therapy, and school based pediatrics. Shannon developed an interest in physical therapy while in high school as she played multiple varsity sports including soccer, track, and softball and had a love of anatomy and physiology. She couldn't think of any other way to integrate her passion for helping people, sports, and medicine. While in high school Shannon was part of a medical science program that allowed her to volunteer her time in a local hospital where she shadowed doctors, nurses, and even physical therapists which only solidified her passion for physical rehabilitation sciences. Shannon enjoys treating a variety of injuries/conditions but has a passion for treating young athletes. She knows firsthand how important it is for athletes to get back to playing without pain or limitations, therefore she takes particular care in integrating not only physical rehab but also an understanding of emotional recovery following an injury. While not at work, Shannon enjoys taking Pilates and yoga classes, kickboxing, high intensity interval training, and various boot camp style classes at her fitness club. She also enjoys taking time out of her schedule to travel with her husband and has been to 23 of the 50 states in the USA. In her down time she loves to snuggle with her beagle mix rescue dog Rylee and take her for hikes, runs, and outdoor activities. Shannon also has a passion for shopping and is always looking for the best bargain there is!
