Stephanie Drew

PHYSICAL THERAPIST BIO

Stephanie earned her master’s in physical therapy from Loma Linda University in California and went on to complete her doctorate. Simultaneously, she completed a year-long manual therapy residency. Stephanie has a strong background in Pilates and Maitland Therapy, successfully treating a broad spectrum of diagnoses. Her newest passion is women’s health.

Philip Galloway

Philip received his undergraduate degree in exercise science from Florida State University in 2006. He completed his doctorate of physical therapy at the University of North Florida in 2010 and upon completing an optional sports residency in South Carolina, he received sports certified specialist credentialing. He moved to the Vail Valley in 2012. Philip's specialties include shoulder and knee pathologies, as well as running and returning athletes to individualized sports. He is also certified in therapeutic dry needling and functional movement screening. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking and running.

Michael Garnzin

Originally from Rochester, NY, Michael earned his master’s degree in physical therapy in 2002 from Ithaca College, where he was a member of the Alpine Race Team. He is recognized as a Credentialed McKenzie Therapist, an advanced certification in the treatment of back and neck problems, and is certified in dry needling. He specializes in the treatment of spine injuries, and post-surgical orthopedic rehabilitation. Michael received his Master’s in Health Administration in 2016, and currently acts as the Coordinator of Howard Head’s SafeFit® Employee Wellness program, occupational health lead, and as the resident instructor for spine. In his free time he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, camping and motorcycling.

Brittney came to Howard Head through our sports physical therapy residency program. Originally from South Dakota, Brittney became interested in physical therapy while completing her undergraduate degree as a certified athletic trainer at Iowa State University, where she worked with Division I football and softball athletes. Brittney completed her doctorate in physical therapy at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center. She is a board-certified sports clinical specialist and has a strong background in Pilates. Brittney is currently training to become a Fellow in the Orhopaedic Academy of Manual Physical Therapy. She specializes in the treatment of the spine, upper and lower extremity injuries, as well as concussion and return-to-sport treatment and

Colleen Rynn

Colleen grew up in Detroit and received her undergraduate degree in pre-physical therapy from the University of Dayton. In 2008, Colleen earned her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Northwestern University. She then moved to California for the opportunity to work in a large outpatient, orthopedic setting before returning to Detroit to work in sports medicine. Colleen joined Howard Head Sports Medicine in 2013 and now manages the Avon, Beaver Creek, and Edwards locations. Colleen is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy and a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor. Her main areas of focus include: the treatment of surgical and nonsurgical spine, hip and knee injuries, dry needling and the injured runner.

Rebecca White

Rebecca graduated in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and certification in physical therapy from Cleveland State University. She is currently a member of the orthopedic and sports physical therapy sections of the American Physical Therapy association, American college of sports medicine and obtained her certificate in applied functional science from Gary Gray in 2014. Rebecca is a certified bike fit specialist with certification through BikePT and BikeFit. She enjoys treating individuals/athletes of all ages/levels recovering from sports related injuries or surgeries especially ankles, knees, hips, and shoulders.

McKinley Lee

McKinley has had a love for Colorado from the very beginning. Born in Atlanta, GA she spent her school breaks skiing in the Vail Valley with her family, which sparked her interest in attending Colorado College for her undergraduate. Before receiving her Doctorate degree at University of Montana in 2007, she worked at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, and taught adaptive skiing in Breckenridge for several seasons. It was during this time when she gained much respect for physical therapists becoming a Howard Head patient herself injuring her knee while skiing. She was fortunate to complete her final outpatient rotation at the Vail clinic in 2010. She has recently returned back to the valley after living in Charlottesville, VA for nine years working in an acute care setting treating an array of complex patients, ranging from the trauma ICUs to post-op orthopedics. She is excited to transition back into an outpatient setting and work with patients who strive to return to an active lifestyle. McKinley enjoys tele-skiing, hiking, teaching/taking pure barre, and spending time with her husband, five year old son, and four year old daughter.

David Kurbatsky

David received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2016. He then completed sports residency training at University of Southern California and fellowship training at Fairview Health Services. David gained additional training and experience by providing rehabilitative services and sideline coverage at Dorsey High School, Pepperdine University, and University of Minnesota Men’s and Women’s Hockey. David is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist and he has special interests in hockey athletes, lower extremity injuries, post-surgical orthopedic rehabilitation, injury prevention, and pre-season screening. His treatment method focus on integrating evidence-based practice, promotion and education of proper movement strategies, individualized return-to-sport programming, and optimizing sports performance to help patients reach their goals. In his free time, David enjoys skiing, hockey, biking, hiking, camping, watching movies, and cooking.

Wendy Hurd

PHYSICAL THERAPIST BIO

Wendy is a graduate in physical therapy from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a board certified sports specialist and has been practicing in outpatient and sports medicine settings for more than 20 years. Her clinical specialty is treatment of shoulder, elbow and knee injuries, with a specialized interest in the overhead, female and ACL injured athlete. She utilizes an evidence-based approach to practice, and incorporates a combination of manual techniques and exercise to assist patients in normalizing their movement biomechanics with the goal of returning patients to their pre-injury activity level. Wendy also has a doctorate in biomechanics from the University of Delaware. She is an award winning investigator who has lectured and published extensively. In parallel to her clinical interests, her research interests include the throwing and ACL injured athlete. Her goal is to perform patient-driven research and translate investigation results into clinical practice.
