Ethan Burger, PT, DPT, SCS, ATC, and MOTION's Director of Sports Medicine Services is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist and a Board Certified Athletic Trainer. He double majored at the College of Charleston in the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina, attaining a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training, as well as Exercise Science. After becoming a Board Certified Athletic Trainer, he continued his education at Touro College in Manhattan, where he graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences. Ethan completed his final clinical rotation at Motion Midtown East, at that time under the name of STAR, and then joined the physical therapist team. An avid athlete his whole life, he continues to participate in a variety of sports outside of work including softball, flag football, Spartan Races, weight lifting, CrossFit and fitness. Since 2015 Ethan has dedicated himself as the primary on-field medical provider for the New York Athletic Club Rugby team as well as recently landed the Head Physical Therapist role for the 2018-2019 Major League Rugby season with the pro team Rugby United New York. He has been undertaking multiple responsibilities such as on-field care, injury management and education, as well as regular calls with team physicians, coaches, head medical staff for the league, and organizing and scheduling games/practices for himself and the other 5 members of the medical staff for the RUNY team. Ethan regularly does out of office hours at Hospital for Special Surgery, and Surgical and Journal Clubs at Lenox Hill Hospital. Ethan is a yearly guest lecturer at Touro College on Post-Operative Physical Therapy Rehabilitation protocols and hopes to soon publish a journal article on post-operative rehabilitation of ACL Repair patients, compared with ACL Reconstruction.

Irene Lee

Irene Lee, PT, DPT is MOTION PT Group’s Director of Clinical Education and Mentorship. Irene is a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist, HSS Rehabilitation Credentialed Advanced Hip Specialist, Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner, Certified in Myofascial Decompression (“cupping”), and RYT 200 hour Yoga teacher. After receiving her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York University, she went on to gain a wide variety of experience in sports/orthopedics from several esteemed hospitals and private settings in NYC and NJ. Her love in sports is continued by being one of the medical providers for Rugby United New York (NYC’s professional rugby league), and volunteering as medical staff for events such as the NYC marathon, American Volleyball Professions tournament, NYC Cup soccer tournament, and Play Rugby USA. Irene has been invited several times to join the Sports Medicine Staff at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO to assist Team USA athletes to prepare for the summer and winter Olympics, as well as traveled with the NYC Handball team to China for the first Women’s Super Globe competition.

Kevin Murtagh, PT, DPT is licensed to practice in the state of New York and has been practicing for 3 years. He has experience in working with orthopedic, sports medicine, pre/post-operative care and geriatrics in a outpatient setting. Kevin works alongside a team of physical therapists for the Rugby United New York professional rugby team in sideline and in-clinic treatment of players. In his spare time, Kevin keeps physically active with long-distance running and weightlifting.

Anthony Sacramento, PT, DPT, is licensed to practice in the state of New York and has been practicing for four years. Anthony is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, FMS Certified, Myofascial Decompression Certified, a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner, SFMA Certified, SMART Tools Certified, and a Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Anthony has over 20 years experience as a competitive gymnast. During his undergraduate years, he competed on the varsity men's gymnastics team and is a 3x All-American Division I athlete with 4 consecutive Big 10 team titles and an NCAA team title. He is a current practitioner of Taekwondo and Hapkido. Anthony is interested in the role physical therapy can play not just in rehabilitation, but also in preventative care and to enhance the skills and lives of any persons or athletes.

Danielle Kagan

Danielle Kagan, OTR/L, CHT, CEAS graduated from Boston University in 1995 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. In 2001, Danielle received her Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT) and more recently she received a Certification in Ergonomic Assessment (CEAS). Danielle began her career working in short term rehabilitation before specializing in hand therapy. She credits her love and passion for hand therapy to her mentors that she worked with at Mount Sinai Medical Center. In 2000, Danielle joined STAR (now known as MOTION Midtown East), where she had the opportunity to establish the Hand Therapy Department and has been here ever since. She loves working with patients and making sure that they get the best care possible. Danielle has had the chance to work closely with many surgeons and has enjoyed both learning from and mentoring colleagues over the years. Currently, Danielle works in both New York and Connecticut. She has run 3 marathons, although spends more time on a spin bike these days. When not working, Danielle can be found spinning, getting crushed playing sports with her sons or long walks with her husband and dog.

Emma Petkofsky

Emma Petkofsky, MS, OTR/L is a graduate of New York University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Originally from Virginia, she attended the University of Virginia and received a B.S.Ed in Kinesiology with a concentration in sports medicine. She became interested in rehabilitation after working in recreational therapy programs including therapeutic horseback riding, adaptive swimming and tennis programs. After volunteering in a hand therapy clinic as an undergraduate student she developed a strong interest in upper extremity rehabilitation and was able to further explore this interest with a clinical affiliation at Motion Midtown East. After graduating she gained experience with inpatient rehabilitation at Kings County Hospital before returning to Midtown East. When she is not in the clinic she loves to explore NYC through two of her favorite pastimes, running and eating.

Alexandra Kahn

Alexandra Kahn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She went on to obtain her degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College. While she was there, Ally became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and taught both group classes and worked with individual clients on achieving their fitness goals. Ally completed her clinical affiliations at a variety of settings including an outpatient orthopedic clinic, a sports medicine clinic, inpatient rehabilitation at NYU Rusk Rehab, and pediatric physical therapy at the Board of Education in NYC. Since graduating from graduate school, Ally has become certified in Myofascial Decompression, will become a Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner this June, and plans to obtain her OCS in the upcoming future.

Dylan O’Keeffe, PT, DPT, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and minor in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Delaware. He went on to obtain his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The College of Staten Island. Before joining MOTION, Dylan was on a COVID rehab team that aided NYC residents return to their norm after extended hospital stays. Additionally, he has experience in the treatment of orthopedic, cardiac, geriatrics, post-operative, chronic pain, and sports medicine conditions. Dylan has been enjoying helping New Yorkers get back on their feet after this past year of decreased activity and increased Netflix. When he’s not in the office, you can catch him on stage doing stand up and improv comedy.

Aimee Chua, MS, OTR/L, received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Behavior with a minor in Business Management at the University of California, Irvine. Prior to graduate school, Aimee volunteered in several settings, such as summer camps for children with disabilities, hospital, and outpatient pediatric clinic. She also worked as a behavioral therapist for children with various developmental disabilities. Aimee attended New York University, receiving her degree in Occupational Therapy. She completed her affiliations at St. Albans VA Hospital, Los Angeles Unified School District, and New York-Presbyterian. Since graduating, Aimee is now working towards obtaining her Certified Hand Therapist certification.

Barbara Rudloff

Barbara Rudloff, PT, DPT, received her Bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey and went on to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mercy College. She first became passionate about physical therapy after tearing her ACL playing basketball requiring reconstruction surgery. During this challenging experience, she saw first-hand how physical therapy could improve what felt like a hopeless situation and help return to pre-injury form. Since surgery, she has been able to complete 4 half marathons and numerous smaller races. Barbara completed her affiliations in two orthopedic outpatient clinics, an inpatient rehabilitation with NY Health and Hospitals Coney Island, and completed her final rotation with MOTION Sports Medicine – Leffert Gardens. Barbara first started with MOTION while studying for her DPT, working as a part time aid, before moving on to be a student and now part of the team in the role as a full-time physical therapist. In her free time, she volunteers with a children’s basketball organization as a coach. Barbara plans to obtain her Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and RRCA Level I Running Coach certificates this year. She enjoys working in sports medicine and with pediatric populations.
