Clinic Director Dr. Melroy earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with a minor in Dance from Ithaca College. She has a special interest in orthopedic and dance related injuries. She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists and is also certified in Functional Dry Needling.

Megan Marcello, MSPT, OCS, has worked with Performance Physical Therapy since 2011 as a Physical Therapist at our East Greenwich location. She has an undergraduate degree in Rehabilitative Science and a Masters in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University. She is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, is certified in dry needling, and is an American Physical Therapist Association member. She’s a clinical instructor for physical therapy students. Marcello specializes in orthopedic, neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation, functional dry needling, sports rehabilitation, pediatric physical therapy and concussion management.

Dr. Nicole Coogan, DPT, joined Performance Physical Therapy in 2017 as a physical therapist at our East Greenwich location. Dr. Coogan earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University. After getting her DPT, Dr. Coogan traveled for two years, working as a physical therapist in a wide variety of settings. During that time, she also earned a certification in functional dry needling and the LSVT BIG program - a research-backed protocol for working with patients who have Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Coogan has expertise in general orthopedics as well as geriatrics and Parkinson’s.

Dr. Leanne Monteiro, PT, DPT, OCS, CMTPT joined Performance in 2018 as the clinic director and physical therapist at the Richmond location. Dr. Monteiro earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rhode Island College in 2008, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University in 2012. In 2015 Dr. Monteiro became Graston technique certified and a certified myofascial trigger point therapist. In 2016 she became a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist and Dry needling certified. Dr. Monteiro is fluent in Portuguese and has clinical expertise in Orthopedics, post-surgical and women's health, including incontinence and pelvic pain. She became a physical therapist because she wanted to help people return to doing what they love to do; whether it was competitive sports, recreational activities, or just getting back to work. In her free time, you can catch Dr. Monteiro cooking, going for walks with her dog, and spending time with her family and friends.

ostritto specializes in general and post-surgical orthopedics, manual therapy, balance, functional dry needling. She also completed Performance Physical Therapy's in-house hand residency program, giving her additional expertise in treating hand and wrist injuries. She's also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Angela is originally from Johnston, RI and attended undergrad close to home at Providence College, where she received degrees in Biology and Spanish. With a degree in Spanish and her Portuguese heritage, Angela has developed a proficiency in these languages that has helped to improve patient/caregiver dialogue. After graduating from Providence College, Angela moved to Boston where she attended Northeastern University for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While at Northeastern, Angela traveled to Switzerland where she participated in an oncology rehabilitation course and learned about the practice of physical therapy internationally.
