Alyssa earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Masters in Anatomy and Clinical Health Science, and Bachelors in Exercise Science from the University of Delaware. Alyssa was involved in physical therapy research through both UD’s ADaPT program (Advancing Diversity in Physical Therapy) and the Peter White Fellowship as an undergraduate regarding muscle activation patterns for patients post-operative TKA. While completing her graduate coursework, Alyssa also served as the chairperson for Delaware’s SSIG (Student Special Interest Group) during the 2nd year of her studies, and took part in organizing an event in conjunction with local Girl Scout troops to promote the physical therapy profession within the community. Alyssa’s passion for the profession stems from receiving an overwhelmingly positive experience to rehab for a rotator cuff injury in high school. She has experience in outpatient sports and orthopedics, outpatient neurology and geriatrics, pediatrics, inpatient acute care, and inpatient acute rehabilitation settings. Alyssa’s overall goal is to make a lasting impact on NYC’s community by increasing self-confidence by helping patients regain function. Her clinical interests range from vestibular therapy and fall prevention to running analysis and rehabilitation. She plans to receive her vestibular certification and manual therapy certifications in the future. Alyssa was raised in the suburbs of Delaware, and is excited to make her way to NYC. She enjoys going on runs through the park, searching Yelp for the greatest food spots in the city, attending live shows, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

Jamie graduated summa cum laude with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Drexel University after receiving her degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Applied Kinesiology from Rutgers University. She is a member of the APTA Orthopedics Section. While at Drexel, Jamie completed clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedics where she treated various sport and non-sport related injuries and completed functional training with patients needing to return to physically demanding jobs. She also completed a rotation in vestibular rehabilitation, where she treated patients rehabilitating from concussions, with balance impairments, and those with differing forms of vertigo. She appreciates the ability to bring her knowledge of the vestibular system to an outpatient orthopedic setting. Jamie grew up competitively dancing and playing soccer. The combination of these activities allowed her to appreciate how a well-rounded approach to physical fitness can help prevent injuries. She was a member of the Rutgers Performing Dance Company in college and played intramural soccer throughout her undergraduate and graduate schooling. She continues to enjoy these activities and also stays active by running, weight-lifting, yoga, and skiing. Jamie aims to provide individualized, thorough care to all of her patients. Her goal is to help patients overcome physical and mental barriers to achieve maximal function and to return to the things they love. In addition to providing care in a clinical setting, Jamie supports individuals’ pursuits to be active by participating as a medical volunteer for events such as the NYC Marathon and the Penn Relays.

Leslie earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in Massachusetts, where she also obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Physical Therapy. Her clinical experience thus far includes orthopedics, rehabilitation, and sports medicine.Leslie’s clinical interests include manual therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), and cupping. She has had extensive training on returning injured athletes back to sport. She has also completed a certification with management of CrossFit and barbell athletes.Outside of the clinic, Leslie’s interests and hobbies include traveling, exploring new places, hiking, CrossFit and yoga.

Michelle Dearwater received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in New York City. Michelle has a diverse background in business, graduating Cum Laude from San Diego State University in 2005. After changing gears and going back to school to pursue her true passion, Michelle became a Physical Therapist in order to help the lives of others. Michelle has had extensive clinical experience in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, gait training, post-operative care, and neurorehabilitation. While attending PT school, Michelle volunteered at several pro bono clinics throughout the city. In addition, she completed research to improve functional activities for persons with spinal cord injuries using specialized training in aerobics, strength conditioning and manually resisted balance techniques. During her former education, Michelle lived and studied in Singapore and had the opportunity to travel throughout South East Asia. Michelle was first introduced to PT as a varsity soccer player with an ACL injury and had her own journey to recovery. Michelle lives an active lifestyle, loves to travel, be outdoors and enjoys adventure. Always a sports fan, she loves an opportunity for a good game and enjoys friendly competition.

Emma Codman earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science, with a Psychology concentration, from Northeastern University, where she graduated with honors. While at Northeastern, she researched cardiovascular health in dancers with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company and also served as part of the leadership team for “Relay for Life,” which raised funds for the American Cancer Society. She has treated patients of all ages and gained clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, dance medicine rehabilitation, and pediatrics. While completing a 14-week clinical program focused on women’s health, she also gained experience treating patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and pain. She has received her Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 certification and is a member of the APTA Section on Women’s Health. Emma was a dancer while growing up and first became passionate about physical therapy via her own experiences with post-injury rehabilitation. She enjoys helping patients get back to doing what they love and aims to use physical therapy as a means of empowering them to be confident in themselves and their bodies. In her free time, Emma enjoys traveling, exploring New York City, finding new and delicious places to eat, cooking new recipes, and staying active through running, yoga, and weight training.

Justin Horwath earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York University and Bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science and Psychology from Appalachian State University. His clinical experiences involve orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, post-surgical care, and conservative treatments. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and SFMA Level 1 Certified. Justin became a physical therapist for his passion of exercise and the human body. He focuses on combining manual techniques and neuromuscular reeducation to maximize and restore dysfunctional movements patterns. He has been involved in organized sports his entire life and through those experiences, learned many valuable lessons involving the body, injuries and the need for proper training and rehabilitation. Each individual is unique and requires a specific program tailored to their needs and expectations. In his spare time, Justin stays active in a variety of ways. He spends time in the gym weightlifting, playing in soccer leagues in the city, and has recently taken an interest in golf. During graduate school, she completed research on the treatment of chronic pain using pain neuroscience education and the psychosocial impact of physical therapy intervention on people living with lymphedema. In her professional career, Yael has experience in acute care, outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, injury prevention, post-operative rehabilitation and pelvic floor dysfunction. She had the opportunity to practice abroad, completing clinical work at the Olympic Center in Israel where she helped both amateur and professional athletes return to sport. Yael earned her Pelvic Floor 1 certification through Herman and Wallace and is passionate about women’s health and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Growing up in San Francisco, Yael was active in competitive soccer and dance, as well as recreational skiing. After sustaining multiple injuries playing soccer in high school, she developed an interest in physical therapy through her own experience with post-injury rehabilitation. This experience taught Yael the importance of empowering her patients to be their own best advocates, while also guiding them back to the activities they love. She now continues to stay active through strength training, dance classes, skiing and hiking. In her free time, Yael enjoys traveling, craft projects and spending time with friends and family.

Eric Finkelstein earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Ithaca Colleg, where he also received his bachelor’s degree in Clinical Health Studies with a minor in Exercise Science. Eric’s clinical experience includes working in orthopedics, neurological rehabilitation, return-to-sport, injury prevention, and pediatrics. Toward the end of his time at Ithaca, Eric conducted research on total knee replacements, and on how various patient factors effects the rehab process. Eric invested his time well at Ithaca College in his pursuit of both clinical and extracurricular activities. He worked at the college’s physical therapy clinic with a soccer player rehabilitating from an ACL injury. He also helped an individual return to walking after the patient suffered a stroke. Eric became involved working with a group of his peers to build injury preventative programs for various club sports teams, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, ice hockey, equestrian, and dance. On top of his clinical experience, Eric served as a teaching assistant for Anatomy and Physiology for four years. He served as a manager for Ithaca’s Women’s varsity volleyball team, as well as a player and a coach for the Men’s Club volleyball team. Eric believes it is important to treat the whole patient; he takes a large focus on the physical aspects of a condition, taking care not to neglect any mental, emotional, or patient-specific components. He believes all of his patients deserve their own individualized care that caters to their specific needs and goals. He has a personal goal of optimizing the health and function of athletes, individuals with orthopedic injuries, and those with neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and spinal cord injury. While at Columbia, Anthony participated in the advance orthopedic course, gaining advanced knowledge in different manual therapy techniques, also attending special courses on the Hand and Wrist, Foot and Ankle, Women’s Health, and Sports Rehabilitation. Additionally, he had the pleasure of presenting a Master Class on Functional Stability Re-training with his fellow classmates. Throughout Anthony’s clinical experience, he has had the opportunity to treat patients of all ages presenting with various orthopedic/sports injuries and post-operative conditions. He has worked with patients following neurological injuries such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. Anthony is a firm believer that each patient’s treatment session should be individualized to their goals and tailored to the demands of their daily life. Anthony’s love of health and wellness began at a young age, when he started training in the martial arts. Throughout his martial training, he has known too often what it is like to be sidelined with an injury. It was after a martial arts injury where Anthony was first exposed to physical therapy. The experience strengthened his ability to empathize with others and allowed him to appreciate the rehabilitation process enabling patients to resume pursuing their passions. During his first job in a private orthopedic clinic, he observed multiple live surgeries, which helped him attain a better understanding of anatomy and biomechanics. Lukasz’s clinical interests include manual therapy, and treating sports related injuries.
